BCEA Limits: Max 45 hours/week (9 hrs/day for ≤5 days/week; 8 hrs/day for >5 days/week). Overtime max 10 hrs/week (paid at 1.5x). Meal interval: 60 mins after 5 hours (can agree to 30 mins).
Max 9 hrs/day if working 5 days or less; Max 8 hrs/day if working 6 days

National Minimum Wage: R27.58/hour (2025/2026). Check sectoral determinations.
BCEA requires disclosure of any payment in kind and its value.

Leave & Benefits

BCEA minimum: 21 consecutive days (15 working days) per 12-month cycle
BCEA: 36 days over 3-year cycle (or 1 day per 26 days worked in first 6 months)
BCEA: 3 days per year (if >4 days/month worked). 5 days if by agreement.
BCEA: 4 consecutive months. UIF applies for 17.32 weeks.
BCEA minimum notice periods. Can agree to longer in contract.
